White Sands National Monument Camping
White Sands National Monument is located about 25 km southwest of Alamogordo in western Otero Country and northeastern Dona Ana Country in the state of New Mexico. The idea of creating a national park here goes back at least to 1898, when a group in El Paso proposed a Mescalero National Park.
